New Delhi, May 20 (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Wednesday strongly reacted to alleged derogatory remarks made by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, terming his statement unfortunate and a reflection of frustration.

Speaking to the media, BJP leader Nitin Nabin said Rahul Gandhi’s remarks were highly regrettable and reflected what he described as an “anarchic mindset.” He added that decorum and mutual respect are essential in Indian politics, but Rahul Gandhi’s comments had undermined these values.

He further said that continuous electoral defeats and the resulting frustration were now clearly visible in Rahul Gandhi’s behaviour and statements, which, according to him, were driving such comments.

Nabin also said that the remarks were not only an insult to the Prime Minister but also to 1.4 billion citizens of the country. He alleged that the opposition, in a state of frustration, was resorting to inappropriate language and had not learned from past mistakes.

The controversy arose after Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a public rally in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly used the term “traitor” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
