
Siliguri, 19 May (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is set to visit North Bengal for the first time since the political change in the state. He will arrive in Siliguri on Wednesday to chair an important administrative meeting at Uttarkanya.
According to administrative sources, senior officials from various districts of North Bengal will participate in the meeting. Key issues likely to be discussed include the law and order situation, progress of government welfare schemes, and several matters related to regional development.
Preparations for the Chief Minister’s visit are in full swing. The Uttarkanya complex is being decorated with banners, festoons, and other arrangements, while security measures have been significantly tightened. Officials are closely monitoring every aspect of the arrangements ahead of the high-profile visit.
On Tuesday, several senior BJP leaders visited Uttarkanya to review the preparations. Political observers believe the meeting could play an important role in accelerating administrative functioning and developmental initiatives in North Bengal.
