
Nagpur, 14 May (HS): The Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath Express has been cancelled for four days posing serious problems for the travellers on the route. The train has been cancelled for infrastructure upgradation of works in Central Railway's Pune Division. Several other trains on the route are likely to be diverted or cancelled.
The traffic and power block has been imposed for
pre-non-interlocking (Pre-NI) and non-interlocking (NI) works related to the
doubling project between Akolner, Ahilyanagar, and Nimbalak stations on the
Daund-Manmad section.
According to Central
Railway officials, the block is necessary to strengthen railway infrastructure
and improve operational safety and efficiency. As part of the changes, Train
No. 12114 Nagpur-Pune Garib Rath Express departing from Nagpur on May 15 and 17
will remain cancelled. Similarly, Train No. 12113 Pune-Nagpur Garib Rath
Express departing from Pune on May 16 and 18 has also been cancelled.
In addition, Train
No. 12136 Nagpur-Pune Special Express leaving Nagpur on May 16 and Train No.
12135 Pune-Nagpur Express departing from Pune on May 17 will remain cancelled.
Central Railway has
also announced route diversions for some trains. Train No. 22845 Pune-Hatia
Express departing on May 17 will run via Lonavala, Karjat, Panvel, Kalyan,
Igatpuri, Nashik Road, and Manmad instead of its regular route. Likewise, Train
No. 22140 Ajni-Pune Express leaving on May 17 will operate through Manmad,
Nashik Road, Kalyan, Panvel, Karjat, and Lonavala under the diversion plan.
Meanwhile, Train
No. 12221 Pune-Howrah Duronto Express departing on May 18 has been rescheduled
and will leave Pune 30 minutes later than its scheduled departure time.
Central Railway has
appealed to passengers to take note of the temporary changes while planning
their journeys. Officials said the traffic blocks are essential for the ongoing
doubling work aimed at improving safety and operational efficiency on the busy
rail corridor.
