New Delhi, 14 May (H.S.): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday and provided detailed information on the rapidly changing situation and development works in Bastar. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was also present during the meeting.

The meeting particularly discussed the ongoing 'Chief Minister Swasth Bastar Abhiyan' and the health services reaching naxal-affected areas.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai told the media that he informed Home Minister Amit Shah about the health services being provided to remote villages. Areas where ambulances were once considered difficult to reach now regularly receive doctors, medicines, and health teams.

In remote villages, people are being examined on foot, and serious diseases are being identified in time to provide free treatment. The Chief Minister claimed that over 21.86 lakh people have undergone health check-ups in just one month, and their digital health profiles have been prepared.

Thousands of patients have been referred for timely treatment and to higher hospitals.

He stated that

the old security camps in Bastar are no longer limited to security alone; they are gradually being developed into public convenience centers, where villagers receive essential services related to health, education, banking, and government schemes at one place.

Through these centers, people living in remote and naxal-affected areas are receiving many basic services easily for the first time. Villagers no longer have to wander far for treatment, bank accounts, documents, and information on government schemes.

He informed that

the Chief Minister Health Bastar Abhiyan, launched from Sukma on April 13, 2026, targets 36 lakh people.

Additionally, through the Bastar Munne (Pioneer Bastar) campaign, efforts are underway at a rapid pace to ensure 100% benefits of 31 important schemes reach the last person. A new super specialty hospital has started in Jagdalpur, where Bastar residents will no longer need to go to Raipur or Bilaspur for expensive treatment. The expansion of Dial-112's next-gen service and the plan to convert old security camps into public convenience centers are also significant steps toward Bastar's permanent development.

He stated that areas once cut off from the mainstream due to naxal influence are now receiving the benefits of government schemes. Recently, transporting a critically ill patient from an extremely remote village in Sukma hundreds of kilometers to a hospital for treatment has become a major example of this change.

The Chief Minister also shared with Home Minister Amit Shah the development roadmap prepared for Bastar. It particularly focuses on roads, education, employment, skill development, and promoting investment. He said that positive changes are being seen rapidly in Bastar under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Home Minister Amit Shah appreciated the development works and expansion of health services in Bastar. He stated that the central and state governments are working together to ensure development benefits reach the last person.

Notably, Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Bastar on May 18 and 19 is also likely.
