BEIJING, May 11 (H.S.): China has announced a series of high-level engagements with the United States, including a state visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to China from May 13 to 15 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The announcement was shared by Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong on X, signalling renewed diplomatic outreach between the world’s two largest economies amid ongoing geopolitical and economic tensions.

In a parallel development, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yu Jing said Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng will lead a delegation to South Korea on May 12-13 for high-level economic and trade consultations with the United States. According to the statement, the discussions will focus on implementing the “key consensus” reached by the two leaders and addressing issues of mutual concern.

The developments come against the backdrop of fluctuating U.S.-China relations marked by trade disputes, technology restrictions, Taiwan-related tensions and strategic competition in the Indo-Pacific region. However, both sides have recently indicated willingness to maintain dialogue and stabilise bilateral ties through continued diplomatic and economic engagement.
