New Delhi, 10 May (H.S.):

Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda on Saturday assumed charge as the Chairman and Managing Director of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). He succeeded Amarendu Prakash, whose tenure ended on April 1.

Panda was earlier serving as the company’s Director (Finance). During that period, he also held additional charge of Director (Commercial) for about nine months.

After completing his B.E. in Electrical Engineering, Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda began his career in SAIL in 1992 as a Management Trainee (Technical). With more than three decades of distinguished service, unwavering dedication and firm resolve, he has risen to the highest level of leadership within the company.
