Lucknow, 01 May

(HS): On Buddha Purnima, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and

Governor Anandiben Patel expressed heartfelt greetings to the people, highlighting

Lord Buddha's everlasting teachings of peace, compassion, and non-violence. CM

Yogi emphasized that Buddha's teachings on humanity and peace are extremely

relevant today, sustaining the state's spiritual legacy. Buddha Purnima is

celebrated on the full moon day of Vaisakha to commemorate Gautama Buddha's

birth, enlightenment (Nirvana), and Parinirvana. CM Yogi Adityanath remarked

that Buddha's teachings of truth, peace, and welfare originated in Uttar

Pradesh, and he urged everyone to follow the path of compassion. Followers mark

the day by meditating, praying, and pondering on Buddha's teachings. Leaders underlined that amid difficult times,

Buddha's teaching offers a road map for peace and human growth.

On the occasion of Buddha Purnima, Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath sent greetings, highlighting Uttar Pradesh's role in spreading

Buddha's message of truth, peace, and humanity across the world. Uttar Pradesh

leaders, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Akhilesh Yadav, and

Mayawati, sent their best wishes on Buddha Purnima, stressing peace, truth, and

humanity. As a real tribute to Buddha, they underlined his teachings and asked

governments to connect their actions with their promises, providing everyone's

security and religious freedom.

Former chief ministers Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati

sent their best wishes. They emphasized the significance of Buddha's teachings

in establishing worldwide awareness and called on leaders to bridge the gap

between words and deeds.

Mayawati, in particular, emphasized the need of

governments protecting life, property, and religious freedom, reflecting

Buddha's idea of 'Appa Deepo Bhava' or self-reliance. Yadav commemorated the

day by sharing a respectful photograph of Buddha.

UP CM remarked in a post on X, “Heartfelt

congratulations and best wishes to all devotees and the people of the state on

the sacred Buddha Purnima. It was from the divine land of Uttar Pradesh that

Lord Buddha gave the message of truth, peace, and the welfare of humanity to

the entire world. Let us follow the path of global brotherhood and coexistence

shown by him, and internalize his thoughts and ideals.”
