Senapati (Manipur), 01 May (HS): Security forces arrested one individual during an operation in Manipur’s Senapati district and recovered a firearm along with other items, officials said.

The arrested person has been identified as S Chakho, a resident of Makhan Centre Village under Senapati Police Station. Police officials informed on Friday that the arrest was made on April 30 as part of ongoing security operations in the region.

During the operation, security personnel seized one 7.65 mm pistol with a magazine, two live rounds of 7.65 mm ammunition, a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card from his possession.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the weapon and any possible links of the accused.------------
