Shahjahanpur,
April 9 (HS): An accused in a cow slaughter case was nabbed following a
confrontation with police in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district, authorities
said on Thursday. According to Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit, the
incident occurred on Wednesday as police were conducting checks in the New

the police, they attempted to run but lost control owing to the high speed, and
the motorbike skidded after a short distance. He said that one of the suspects
opened fire on the police squad, resulting in retaliatory gunfire. During the
exchange, the accused, Bhura alias Bhuriya (32), received a gunshot wound in
his leg. The
other suspects escaped under cover of darkness, he added.
According

the Government Medical College. According to the SP, Bhura has more than ten
cases lodged against him in Shahjahanpur and surrounding areas, the most of
them involve cow slaughter and other offenses. A complaint has been filed
