Guwahati, 09 April (HS): Voting for the Assembly elections commenced at 7 am across the state on Thursday, with several candidates casting their votes early in the morning. Long queues of voters were witnessed at various polling stations, reflecting enthusiasm among the electorate.

In Nagaon, Congress leader Pradyut Bordoloi exercised his franchise. BJP candidate Bhuvan Gam from Majuli and Vinod Hazarika from Chabua-Lahowal also cast their votes.

In Dhemaji’s West Gogamukh, Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu cast his vote and appealed to people to come out in large numbers to participate in the democratic process. AJP candidate Kunki Chowdhury from Central Guwahati also exercised his right to vote.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate Mrinal Saikia from Khumtai walked to the polling station to cast his vote. Across the state, long queues at polling booths highlighted strong voter awareness and participation in the electoral process.----------
