Guwahati, 05 April (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that popular singer Zubeen Garg will “soon get justice,” adding that the charge in the case related to him will be framed within the next 10 days.
Speaking to media persons after attending a program last night, the Chief Minister stated that once the charge is framed, the legal proceedings will move forward based on established evidence and arguments.
Responding to another question, Sarma launched a fresh attack on Kunki Choudhury, making strong remarks over the issue of beef consumption. He asserted that consumption of beef would not be tolerated in sacred places like Kamakhya Temple, Majuli and Batadrava Than.
The Chief Minister further said that if Choudhury claims to follow Sanatan traditions, he should publicly distance himself from his parents’ alleged actions. Sarma added that he would strongly oppose beef consumption anywhere and warned that legal action would be taken against Choudhury’s parents after the elections over the matter.
On the next question, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the BJP would secure between 90 to 100 seats. He claimed that people of Jorhat have extended overwhelming support and predicted a decisive victory for BJP candidate Hitendra Nath Goswami by a huge margin.
Highlighting government initiatives, Sarma said that transparent recruitment drives have created hope among the youth of Assam, adding that young people across the state are backing the BJP.-----------
