Lucknow,

5 April (HS): Despite the current stressful situation, almost 6,000 Uttar

Pradesh workers in Israel are secure, with the state administration in constant

communication with Indian authorities on the ground, officials said on Sunday. Shanmuga

Sundaram, Principal Secretary Labour and Employment Department, Uttar Pradesh,

maintains regular touch with the Indian Embassy in Israel to monitor

developments and assure the safety of Indian people, particularly those from

the state. According to information from the embassy, all Indian workers in

Israel are secure, with no reports of an emergency or severe threat thus far. Acting

on the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state administration is

strictly monitoring the well-being of all workers. Officials stated that the

state administration is in close touch with India's Ambassador to Israel, J P

Singh, who has provided frequent updates.

In

messages dated March 11, 17, and 28, the ambassador verified the safety of all

Indian workers, including those from the state. While there is understandable

anxiety about the situation, authorities said there has been no considerable

demand or pressure from workers desiring to return to India, and that the

embassy is in frequent communication with them and is fulfilling their

requirements. The envoy also stated that several workers in Uttar Pradesh

recently received visiting Indian journalists, demonstrating that the situation

is under control and that regular life continues. According to the statement,

the embassy's First Secretary, Dr Garika Tejeshwar, has certified that all

state personnel are secure and that no untoward incidents have occurred thus

far.

Sundaram

stated that several Indian nationals, primarily traders and students, had

returned willingly through Jordan with the assistance of the embassy, and

similar arrangements may be arranged for workers if necessary. Officials said

that the embassy's control room has not received any urgent or emergency

signals, and that all employees are following local safety guidelines. The

Uttar Pradesh administration is keeping a close eye on the issue and has

assured workers that it remains in solidarity with them and will enable their

return if they desire to do so. Israel's Population and Immigration Authority

also has a helpline that provides assistance to workers in several languages.

Despite occasional events like as missile strikes, the overall situation for

Indian laborers, particularly those from Uttar Pradesh, is normal, authorities

added.
