Chennai, 05 April (H.S.):M. K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, is set to campaign across Virudhunagar and Madurai districts on Sunday, intensifying the DMK-led alliance’s outreach in the crucial southern belt ahead of the Assembly elections.

The Chief Minister will begin his day with a major public rally in Virudhunagar at around 9 am. The meeting, scheduled at Chathirareddiapatti along the Madurai four-lane highway, is expected to draw a large gathering of party workers and supporters. Stalin will campaign in support of candidates from key constituencies, including Aruppukottai, Tiruchuzhi, Sivakasi, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar and Srivilliputhur.

The campaign push follows Stalin’s high-energy appearances on Saturday, where he addressed public meetings in Nagercoil and Sankarankovil in Tenkasi district before halting for the night in Virudhunagar.

In the afternoon, Stalin will travel to Thirumangalam in Madurai district to address another public meeting at Rayapalayam at around 4 pm. The event is aimed at consolidating support for DMK alliance candidates across Madurai district, including prominent leader Palanivel Thiaga Rajan in Madurai Central, along with candidates in Madurai East, North, South, West, Tirupparankundram, Sholavandan and Usilampatti constituencies. The candidate for Melur is yet to be announced.

Later in the evening, the Chief Minister will hold a roadshow in Madurai city, covering a key stretch from TVS Nagar bridge to Villapuram Jayavilas area in Madurai West. The roadshow is expected to witness strong public participation as the DMK seeks to energise its cadre base.

With only days left for polling, Stalin’s packed schedule highlights the DMK’s aggressive campaign strategy to strengthen its foothold in southern Tamil Nadu and rally voter support in closely contested seats.
