Hooghy, 05 April (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Saptagram Assembly constituency, Swaraj Ghosh, on Sunday addressed a press conference at his campaign office, sharing his views on key regional and local issues.
During the interaction, Ghosh alleged that under the rule of the Trinamool Congress, the Saptagram constituency has seen little development in basic amenities. He claimed that sectors such as education, healthcare, drainage, and drinking water remain underdeveloped in the area.
The BJP candidate further stated that paddy and potato farmers are facing worsening conditions due to the state government’s policies, adding that several farmers have even died by suicide.
He promised that if elected, his priority would be to establish a super-speciality hospital in the constituency to improve healthcare services. He also assured rapid development in essential sectors like education, drainage, and drinking water.
Ghosh also alleged that people in the state are unable to avail benefits under the Ayushman Bharat due to the policies of the state government. He said that the state-run Swasthya Sathi scheme is accepted only in a limited number of hospitals, causing inconvenience to people.
He further claimed that if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal, development work across the state, including Saptagram, will be accelerated with support from the central government.
