5 April (HS): On the occasion of Babu Jagjivan Ram's birth anniversary on April
5, 2026, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid respect to the
former Deputy Prime Minister as a champion of social justice and independence
fighter. CM Yogi praised his lifetime commitment to social peace and equality,
as well as his desire to lifting the poor up. CM Yogi complimented
Babuji for raising the voice of the downtrodden and
underprivileged. He stressed Jagjivan Ram's position as a national leader and
his lifelong quest for social justice.
Yogi claimed that Jagjivan Ram's life promotes a path of service and
devotion to a just society. Babu Jagjivan Ram, born on April 5, 1908, held
several Union Cabinet ministries for 35 years and played an important part in
the Green Revolution and the 1971 war.

Deputy Prime Minister, and public leader Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth
anniversary. Throughout his life, he amplified the voices of the marginalized,
exploited, and vulnerable sections of society and tirelessly fought for equal
opportunity and social harmony. His life inspires us that by following the path
of service, dedication, and social harmony, society can become more just.
