5 April (HS): Three persons were killed and several injured after their car collided
with a bridge on the Balrampur-Badhni national highway early Sunday, according
to authorities. The accident occurred near Purushottam village on the
Tulsipur-Pachpedwa section when a car carrying six persons collided with a
bridge, according to reports. According to authorities, Adil (21) and Afroz
(20), both inhabitants of Pachpedwa, perished on the scene. The injured,
including Hashmi (21), were transported to the district hospital, where she
died. The victims had gone to the Devi Patan Mela in Tulsipur on Saturday night
and were on their way back home when the disaster occurred, according to
police. According to Tulsipur Circle Officer Jitendra Kumar, the remains have
been submitted for a post-mortem, and legal actions are ongoing.
Meanwhile,
local SP MLA Rakesh Yadav paid a visit to the grieving relatives and told them
that they will receive all available support. He also wanted Rs 10 lakh ex
gratia for each of the deceased, claiming that all of the victims were from
economically disadvantaged homes.
