Guwahati, 05 April (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has strongly refuted allegations made by the Congress regarding his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma allegedly holding passports of three different countries, calling the claims “baseless and fabricated.”

According to the Congress, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma was purportedly in possession of passports from Egypt, the UAE, and Antigua and Barbuda. The Chief Minister, however, dismissed the allegations outright and accused Congress leader Pawan Khera of circulating forged documents generated using artificial intelligence to mislead the public.

Sarma stated that within 48 hours, both he and his wife would initiate defamation and criminal proceedings against Pawan Khera over the alleged forgery and misinformation campaign. He also informed that separate FIRs would be filed at police stations in connection with the matter.

The Chief Minister shared these details through a post on the social media platform X, asserting that the Congress is attempting to mislead the public under pressure and frustration.

He further said that the people of Assam are well aware and will not be swayed by such propaganda or fabricated claims.---------------
