
New Delhi, 30 April (H.S.): Delhi High Court Justice Jyoti Singh has recused herself from hearing a petition filed by boAt co-founder Aman Gupta seeking protection of his personality rights. Justice Singh ordered the matter transferred to the bench of Justice Tushar Rao Gedela. The next hearing is scheduled for May 7.
Senior advocates Syel Trehan and Nakul Gandhi appeared for Aman Gupta. The petition claims unauthorised use of Gupta's photos and AI-generated content infringes his personality rights.
Notably, the High Court has previously granted similar protections to prominent figures including Telugu actor Allu Arjun, storyteller Aniruddhacharya, Malayalam actor Mohanlal, former MP Gautam Gambhir, Acharya Balakrishna, actress Sonakshi Sinha, Baba Ramdev, actress Kajol, actor Vivek Oberoi, Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, ex-cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, actor Salman Khan, actor Ajay Devgn, actress and MP Jaya Bachchan, journalist Sudhir Chaudhary, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Telugu actor Nagarjuna, actress Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, and producer Karan Johar.
