Indian Army playing vital role in transforming lives in border areas: Vikramaditya

Srinagar, 03 April (H.S.): Former MLC and scion of the erstwhile Dogra Royal Family, Vikramaditya Singh, has lauded the Indian Army for its extensive civil outreach and community development initiatives supporting students and local communities in border areas of Kupwara district, including Tangdhar and Karnah.

During his recent visit to these areas on the occasion of Navratri Puja at Shardha Temple, Teetwal, along the LoC, Singh interacted with senior civil society members, students and Army officers. He gained first-hand insight into the positive impact of various initiatives on the ground, including the Army Goodwill School in Hajinar and Community Radio Rooh-e-Karnah, which he said play a vital role in empowering youth, promoting education and fostering community engagement.

Vikramaditya Singh expressed admiration for the potential and enthusiasm among students actively participating in these programs with Army support. He highlighted that the Army’s sustained efforts in education, healthcare, infrastructure and community welfare have significantly improved the quality of life in remote and sensitive regions, addressing immediate needs while building long-term trust and cooperation between the armed forces and local populations.

“Such initiatives by the Indian Army are highly impactful and deserve sincere appreciation. They strengthen the social fabric and ensure inclusive development in border areas,” he said. Singh also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for their vision and support, emphasizing that these outreach programs contribute to national integration by creating opportunities for youth and bridging gaps in frontier regions.
