Varanasi, 29 April (H.S.):
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will depart from the Bareka Guest House in a short while for darshan and worship at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple on the final day of his two-day Varanasi visit, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The entire 14-kilometer route has been festooned with decorations to accord a grand welcome, with enthusiastic crowds queuing behind barricades since early morning.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has established five key welcome points along the path from Bareka to the temple—Mundua Dih, Police Lines, Lahurabir, Maidagin, Chawk, and the temple gate—where party workers, state ministers, elected representatives, officials, and local residents are poised to greet the Prime Minister with drumbeats, conch shells, and showers of rose petals. BJP Kashi region president Dilip Patel confirmed these arrangements, emphasizing the exuberant participation of the masses.
Robust Security Measures
Police remain on high alert, with comprehensive security deployments at the temple to facilitate the Prime Minister's 10-minute ritual in the sanctum sanctorum under the supervision of temple priests.
