The national capital Delhi and its surrounding areas experienced a sudden weather reversal this morning, with strong winds, lightning flashes across the sky, and brief spells of rain providing much-needed relief from the heat. Similar pleasant conditions prevailed in Noida and Ghaziabad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) shared a satellite image in this regard.

IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sikkim today. According to IMD, Delhi-NCR may remain overcast today and tomorrow, with prospects of light rain and possible thunderstorms. Weather is expected to normalize over the weekend, with maximum temperatures in Delhi ranging between 37-39°C and minimums between 26-28°C today. Yesterday, the city recorded a high of 39.2°C and a low of 28.4°C.

The IMD has warned of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds at 40-50 km/h across states including Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha. Heavy rain is anticipated in some parts of West Bengal today, while hailstorms accompanied by thunderstorms are likely in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
