Multiple Arrests in Manipur: Drugs Seized, Five Held for Vandalism
Imphal, 28 April (HS): In a series of coordinated operations, Manipur Police and security forces apprehended several individuals in connection with drug trafficking and a case of vandalism across different districts of the state in last 24 hours.

Imphal, 28 April (HS): In a series of coordinated operations, Manipur Police and security forces apprehended several individuals in connection with drug trafficking and a case of vandalism across different districts of the state in last 24 hours.

According to the police information on Tuesday, acting on routine checks at the Himalayan Tiles police checkpoint under Lamsang Police Station in Imphal West district, police detained a youth identified as Marconi Ningthoujam (24). During the search, approximately 1.1 kg of suspected contraband ganja was recovered from his possession.

In a separate operation at Imphal International Airport, security personnel intercepted two passengers bound for Bangalore. The duo, both residents of Mayang Imphal in Imphal West district, were identified as Aslam Khan (39) of Bengoon Loubuk Leikai and Chesam Amir (31) of Phoubakchao Makha Leikai. Upon examination, officials recovered around 84 grams of suspected heroin (No. 4) from them.

Meanwhile, in another operation carried out at Moirang Patlou under Moirang Police Station in Bishnupur district, police arrested five individuals allegedly involved in attacking a loaded truck and destroying fertilizer bags. The accused have been identified as Laishram Avijit Singh (25), Khwairakpam Dhaneshwor Singh (25), Alex Moirangthem (25), Phairembam Kaijer Singh (36) and Sanabam Chaoba Meitei (48). Authorities also seized four two-wheelers reportedly used in executing the act.

Further investigation into all the cases is currently underway, police said.------------
