
Guwahati, 28 April (HS): Proceedings in the case related to the death of noted artist Zubeen Garg are continuing in a fast-track court, with a crucial hearing scheduled on Tuesday on the bail plea of prime accused Siddharth Sharma.
According to the case details, both Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma had moved the court seeking bail after the elections. While Siddharth’s plea is being heard today, the hearing on Shyamkanu Mahanta’s bail application has been fixed for April 30.
It may be mentioned that the charge hearing process against seven accused persons in the case has already been completed in the fast-track court. At present, Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma are lodged in Nikasi Jail.
In connection with the same case, two bodyguards of Zubeen Garg—Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Vaishya—are also in judicial custody in the same jail. Meanwhile, Sandeepan Garg is also lodged there, whereas Shekharjyoti and Amritprabha are currently being held in Haflong Jail.-----------
