New Delhi, 28 April (H.S.): The Noida International Airport has received security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for its aerodrome security plan, marking a key milestone toward the launch of flight operations at the upcoming aviation hub. With this approval in hand, the airport administration is now coordinating with airlines and other stakeholders to finalise the actual date for commencing commercial services.

In a statement on Tuesday, Noida International Airport said its primary focus now is to ensure that all systems, processes, and personnel are fully prepared for safe, efficient, and seamless operations. The BCAS nod means the airport’s security layout, contingency plans, and screening protocols meet national civil‑aviation standards, allowing the management to move decisively into the next phase of pre‑launch preparations.

The greenfield project, being developed in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, is designed to enhance regional connectivity and catalyse economic growth in the National Capital Region (NCR). Once operational, it is expected to de‑congest the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and evolve into a major aviation hub serving northern India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the airport on March 28, 2026, underscoring its strategic importance for aviation expansion and infrastructure modernisation. Officials now anticipate that, after the start of operations, the Noida International Airport will absorb a significant share of passenger traffic from the capital region, easing pressure on Delhi’s main airport and improving travel experience through distributed capacity and better connectivity.
