New Delhi, 22 April (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi invoked profound reverence for Earth as Mother, framing its preservation as an indispensable duty intrinsically linked to humanity's welfare and a sacred pledge to posterity.
In a poignant X post on Wednesday, the Prime Minister shared a timeless Sanskrit subhashita: “यस्यां वृक्षा वानस्पत्या ध्रुवास्तिष्ठन्ति विश्वहा। पृथिवीं धेनुं प्रदुहां न उदिच्छन्तु नमोऽस्तु पृथिव्यै॥” Elucidating its essence, he portrayed Earth as a cosmic milch-cow—nurturing the world through steadfast trees and vegetation—imploring sustainable harnessing without harm, while bowing in obeisance to its equilibrating grace.
This invocation transcends rhetoric, embodying India's civilizational harmony with nature, where exploitation yields to balanced utilization for intergenerational equity.
