New Delhi, 22 April (H.S.):
India stands poised to mediate between Iran and the United States when the moment ripens, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared on his three-day German visit, reaffirming India's peace advocacy amid faltering Pakistan-hosted talks.
Rajnath Singh arrived Tuesday via special German Air Force aircraft, fighter jets escorting his Munich-Berlin leg, receiving full military honors in Berlin. Agenda includes bolstering ties with Defence Minister Boris Pistorius and seniors, alongside industry dialogues promoting Make-in-India joint ventures and co-production.
On day one, he connected with Berlin's 300,000 Indian diaspora hailing them as the staunchest bridge spanning trade, tech, healthcare, education, and arts—urging global amplification of India's worldview and economic fortification.
Though not directly intervening now despite PM Modi's ceasefire pleas—Singh left the door ajar for future facilitation, as Islamabad efforts stumble. Everything has its opportune time, he noted, confident in prospective efficacy.
Marking 75 years of diplomacy grounded in trust, respect, and shared democracy, Singh implored heritage-rooted expatriates to sustain Indo-German synergy, reiterating governmental safeguards worldwide. He spotlighted India's surge—infrastructure, startups, space, digital realms—under Atmanirbhar Bharat, curbing import reliance via indigenous prowess.
