Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan urged civil servants Tuesday to embrace greater responsibility with authority, serving nation-building with utmost integrity and honesty. Addressing the 18th Civil Services Day at Vigyan Bhawan, he stressed reaching schemes to the last person for achieving Viksit Bharat 2047.

Greater power brings greater duty, he said, emphasizing effective 'last-mile delivery' and ground-level sensitivity to ensure governance benefits the remotest citizen.

Policies may originate in Delhi, but true impact manifests in distant villages through faithful execution.

Recalling Sardar Patel's Steel Frame of India, Radhakrishnan hailed civil servants as administrative pillars fostering national unity. State-level officers embody coordination's finest ambassadors.

Highlighting Aspirational Districts and One District One Product initiatives, he noted success hinges on district officials' contextual implementation. Every district's needs differ; tailor schemes accordingly—no region left behind.

Under PM Modi's decade-long leadership, India joined major economies, lifted 25 crore from poverty, built 4 crore homes for the poor, and transformed border villages into 'Vibrant Villages.' Targeted welfare demands precise delivery to genuine beneficiaries.

Radhakrishnan advocated teamwork blending personal excellence with collective performance. Civil servants, as policy executors, drive these milestones through diligence and tech adoption—AI, machine learning, digital platforms enhancing transparency.

The era of generalists wanes; specialized recruitment essential. True leadership shines in ethical decisions under pressure. Women's participation rose from 21% (2016) to 31% (2025)—embodying 'Nari Shakti.'

Seva Tirth and Kartavya Bhawan symbolize service and duty. Transform the last person's life for inclusive governance.

MoS Jitendra Singh noted citizen-centric shifts via transparency and timely grievance redressal. Attendees included PM Principal Secretary P.K. Mishra, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, Cabinet Secretary T.V. Somanathan, and DARPG Secretary Nivedita Shukla Verma.
