New Delhi, 21 April (H.S.):

Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan conducted a comprehensive video conference review Tuesday of wheat procurement arrangements in Vidisha parliamentary constituency.

The meeting included MLAs and collectors from all eight assembly segments—Vidisha, Sanchi, Ganjbasoda, Budhni, Bhojpur, Khategaon, and Ichhawar—along with senior officials.

Chouhan stressed smooth, transparent operations, directing officials to coordinate with elected representatives ensuring adequate facilities at procurement centers. He mandated vigilance on gunny bag availability, slot booking systems, and farmer conveniences.

Farmers must face no inconvenience; procurement must be systematic, simplified, and farmer-friendly, he asserted. Chouhan pledged discussions to extend deadlines, increase quotas, add weighing scales, and continue operations on holidays if needed—consulting Madhya Pradesh government and Chief Minister for optimal execution.

The ministry remains committed to hassle-free processes, instilling confidence that every farmer's wheat will be procured without fail.
