Kolkata, 21 April (H.S.): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a fresh summons to actress and former Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan in connection with an old flat fraud case. She has been asked to appear at the agency’s office in the CGO Complex on Wednesday. The central agency had questioned her earlier in the same matter.
According to available information, the investigation relates to alleged fraud in the Rajarhat area involving promises of providing flats to buyers. Nusrat Jahan was reportedly among the directors of the company facing the allegations.
Sources said the agency has recently come across several new facts related to the case over the past few months. Based on those developments, she has been summoned again for questioning.
The case has no connection with the ration wheat smuggling matter. Nusrat Jahan’s name had never surfaced in that investigation.
It may be recalled that after reports of the summons emerged, the Trinamool Congress had claimed that attempts were being made to unnecessarily link her name with the ration distribution corruption case.
