New Delhi, 21 April (H.S.):

A petition filed in Delhi High Court demands contempt proceedings against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leaders, and journalist Ravish Kumar for uploading videos of Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma's bench hearing on social media. Chief Justice DK Upadhyay's bench will hear the matter Wednesday.

Filed by advocate Vaibhav Singh, the plea objects to recording and circulating videos of Justice Sharma's hearing on CBI's appeal challenging Kejriwal's trial court discharge in the Delhi excise scam case. Named respondents include Congress leader Digvijay Singh, AAP's Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, Sanjeev Jha, Purandeep Sahni, Jarnail Singh, Mukesh Ahlawat, and Vinay Mishra alongside Kejriwal and Kumar.

The petition seeks immediate removal of videos from social platforms, accusing Kejriwal of presenting baseless, misleading arguments to undermine court authority.

Clips were widely shared across X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to mislead public opinion and pressure judiciary/central government.

Singh had previously complained to High Court Registrar General seeking action. Justice Sharma rejected Kejriwal's April 20 recusal plea, ruling mere apprehension insufficient grounds for withdrawal.
