Kolkata, 02 April (H.S.): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday launched a sharp attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress while addressing an election rally in Bankura district, claiming that a wave of change is sweeping the state and that no force can stop the BJP from coming to power.

Speaking on the occasion of the filing of nominations by BJP candidates, Yadav said that the people of Bengal are distressed under the Mamata Banerjee government and are now seeking political change. He described Bankura as the land associated with great personalities like Subhas Chandra Bose, Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore, and said the call for change was beginning from such historic soil.

Targeting the Chief Minister, he remarked that Mamata Banerjee is no longer “Didi” but has become “Appi”, claiming that this sentiment is now being heard across the country. He also alleged that the policies of the state government have forced many youths from Bengal to migrate to other states in search of employment.

Raising the issue of illegal infiltration, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister alleged that infiltrators from Bangladesh were affecting the rights of local residents. He said strict action would be taken against the issue if the BJP forms the government in the state.

Yadav also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that India’s global stature has risen and the country is progressing steadily on the path of development. He said that welfare schemes of the Central government have ensured housing and free rations for the poor.

Accusing the state government of irregularities, he referred to alleged scams related to teacher recruitment, housing schemes and MGNREGA, and said the time had come for people to respond through democratic means.

Concluding his address, he urged BJP workers to intensify grassroots campaigning and ensure maximum voter support for the party. He said party workers must continue their efforts until the last vote is cast.

In a separate interaction with the media, Yadav claimed that the political atmosphere in West Bengal is favourable to the BJP and expressed confidence that the party would form the next government in the state. He added that the BJP or its allies are in power in more than 21 states and expressed hope that West Bengal would soon join that list.
