Kokrajhar (Assam), 19 April (HS): In a major anti-narcotics operation, police seized drugs valued at around ₹2 crore from Srirampur in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district, officials said on Sunday.

Acting on specific inputs, the police intercepted a luxury vehicle travelling from Silchar towards Rajasthan and recovered 25 packets of opium concealed in a secret chamber of the vehicle.

The accused, identified as Krishna Ram Prajapat, a resident of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, was apprehended on the spot with the contraband.

Police sources said further investigation is underway to ascertain the network involved in the smuggling racket and to identify other links connected to the consignment.------------
