Guwahati, 17 April (HS): Assam Advocate General Debojit Lon Saikia on Friday stated that Congress leader Pawan Khera will have to follow the judicial process in Assam after the Supreme Court rejected his plea.
Speaking to the media, Saikia said that Khera had approached the Supreme Court of India challenging the stay imposed on the bail order granted by the Telangana High Court. He had sought relief in his favor through the petition.
However, the Supreme Court dismissed the plea and advised Khera to apply for anticipatory bail before a competent court in Assam.
The Advocate General further clarified that following the court’s decision, Khera must now pursue appropriate legal remedies within the jurisdiction of Assam courts in accordance with due process of law.----------
