
Kolkata, 17 April (H.S.): Ahead of the Assembly elections, Kolkata Police recovered a significant amount of cash during naka checking operations, officials said. The incident took place on Thursday night.
According to sources, a total of ₹4,67,500 was seized from two different locations. The first recovery was made in the Patuli police station area, where police intercepted a car near Dhalai Bridge and seized ₹3,67,500.
The second incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Tangra police station, where police recovered ₹1 lakh from GK Road and Christopher More.
Police are currently investigating the source of the cash and the purpose for which it was being transported.
