On the opening day of Parliament's special three-day session, BJP President Nitin Nabin and other newly elected members took oath in Rajya Sabha Thursday. Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan administered oaths to the inductees before proceedings adjourned till 11 a.m. Friday.

Tributes and Agenda Preview

Rajya Sabha paid homage to former member Mohsina Kidwai and singer Asha Bhosle. Friday's session launches debate on the Constitution Amendment Bill for women's reservation plus two others, following Lok Sabha discussions; passage eyed tomorrow.

Radhakrishnan swore in Terash Gowala, Jogen Mohan (both BJP Assam), Sujit Kumar (BJP Odisha), Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Vem Narendra Reddy (Congress Telangana), Vinod Kumar Tawde (BJP Maharashtra), Anurag Sharma (Congress Himachal), Sanjay Bhatia (BJP Haryana), Promod Boro (UPPL Assam), Karmveer Singh Baudh (Congress Haryana), Phulo Devi Netam (Congress Chhattisgarh), Lakshmi Verma (BJP Chhattisgarh), Shivesh Kumar (BJP Bihar), Ramnath Thakur (JD(U) Bihar), and Upendra Kushwaha (RLM Bihar). He congratulated all.
