BJP Leader Smriti Irani Leaves Hooghly Roadshow Midway Amid Alleged Mismanagement

Kolkata, 15 April (H.S.) : A significant development unfolded during the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026 campaign as BJP leader Smriti Irani reportedly left a roadshow midway in Hooghly district’s Chinsurah on the occasion of the Bengali New Year.

According to sources, Irani was upset over alleged mismanagement and lack of coordination by the local party leadership. It is claimed that even basic arrangements and customary reception were not properly in place, which led to her displeasure.

Following this, she chose to leave the venue without addressing the gathering. Despite efforts by a section of party workers to persuade her to continue, she reportedly returned midway.

The incident, taking place on a significant cultural occasion, has sparked political discussions and raised questions over internal coordination within the BJP’s state unit.

As campaigning intensifies ahead of the elections, such developments are adding to the already charged political atmosphere in West Bengal.
