Saharanpur,

April 14 (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday

that the newly constructed Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor will considerably

increase connectivity and economic growth. Adityanath addressed a public

gathering in Saharanpur ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dedication of

the corridor to the nation, congratulating the people of the region and

thanking the prime minister, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, and

National Highways Authority of India officials for carrying out the project. Adityanath

also commemorated B R Ambedkar's birth anniversary.

The

function at Saharanpur was attended by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel,

deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and BJP state

president Pankaj Chaudhary, among others. They were virtually connected to the

PM's corridor opening event in Dehradun.

The

Delhi-Baghpat-Saharanpur-Dehradun Economic Corridor is a significant

contribution to the area. It will hasten economic development and boost

connectivity, he claims. The chief minister stated that the journey time

between Saharanpur and Delhi, which used to take five to six hours, will now be

reduced to two and a half to three hours. He further stated that the corridor

will boost connection to Dehradun, hence helping commerce, agriculture, and

local industry. Adityanath emphasized the economic benefit, stating that items

from Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, and Meerut, such as woodwork,

handicrafts, agricultural produce, fruits, and vegetables, will now have

speedier access to not just the national capital but also worldwide markets. This

corridor will serve as a major medium for farmers and entrepreneurs to get

better prices for their produce and expand their reach, he stated.

Referring

to Ambedkar's 135th birth anniversary, the chief minister stated that the event

is especially significant since the architect of the Constitution established

the groundwork for equality and social justice in India. Babasaheb provided

equal rights for all citizens under the Constitution, regardless of caste,

region, gender, or background, creating the groundwork for a powerful India, he

said. Adityanath also emphasized the government's efforts to recognize social

reformers, adding that infrastructure is being developed at places linked with

luminaries like as Ambedkar, Sant Ravidas, Maharishi Valmiki, and others. If

monuments of such important figures need boundary walls or adequate cover, the

government would offer cash to complete the construction and assure proper

respect, he stated.

Adityanath

emphasized infrastructure-led growth, claiming that Uttar Pradesh has emerged

as a hub of security, good governance, infrastructure, employment, and

investment under the double-engine administration. He stated that initiatives

like this corridor, which smoothly connects states including as Uttar Pradesh,

Uttarakhand, and Delhi, demonstrate the strength of a double-engine

administration. The chief minister also highlighted current development

initiatives in the region, such as a new university in Saharanpur, a civil

terminal at Sarsawa airport, and the forthcoming film city and international

airport in Jewar, which he claimed will provide job possibilities for young

people. He stated that the administration is attempting to preserve history

while also advancing growth. Such undertakings are only achievable with

dedicated leadership that works persistently without pausing or deviating, he

added.

Adityanath

also appeared to take aim at opposition parties, claiming that people who

create caste or family divisions are incapable of considering progress. Those

who believe in division and turmoil, who formerly pushed the state into riots

and protected mafias, cannot be expected to promote growth or give jobs for

young, he added. The chief minister recalled prior challenges in commuting

between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, particularly during the monsoon season,

and stated that the new corridor will tackle long-standing connection concerns

and provide a smoother travel experience. He reaffirmed that under Modi's

leadership, India is moving forward with a model of growth, governance, and

service, and initiatives such as the economic corridor represent that vision.
