Noida,

April 14 (HS): On Tuesday, Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh

announced that more than 300 people had been detained and seven FIRs had been

filed in connection with the Noida workers' protest, which became violent. Addressing

media, Singh stated that continuous route marches have been conducted since

early morning to ensure peace and order. Route marches have been going on

constantly since 5:00 a.m. Workers gathered in three sites this morning, and

after an immediate discourse, they were amicably dispersed within 15 minutes,

she added. The police commissioner stated that multiple WhatsApp groups have

been formed in the last two days using QR codes to add workers, indicating the

potential presence of an organised network.

Several

WhatsApp groups have been launched during the last two days, and workers may be

added by scanning QR codes. This suggests that a planned and well-orchestrated

gang is behind these acts, she stated. Singh stated that persons responsible

for inciting disturbance had been identified and apprehended, with additional

action being taken. The mob engaging in such activities has been identified and

apprehended; other arrests will be made in due course. Their financing sources

will also be checked; if it is revealed that they got financial support from

another state or nation, appropriate action will be taken, she stated. Singh

stated that seven FIRs have been filed in connection with occurrences reported

from various places on Monday, and more than 300 persons have been arrested.

More

arrests are likely in the following days, she said. Referring to efforts to

settle the problem, the commissioner stated that a committee formed by the

state government has been meeting with stakeholders. The High-Powered Committee,

which has been here since yesterday, has done long and marathon-style

discussions with various parties and has made several suggestions. These

recommendations will be disclosed during a news conference set for 11:30 a.m.

today, she added. Singh stated that the administration is attentive to workers'

concerns and is dedicated to addressing them. The Uttar Pradesh government

understands the workers' frustrations, empathizes with their plight, and is

dedicated to resolving all of their concerns, she added.
