New Delhi, 14 April (H.S.):
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday paid floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Ambedkar National Memorial on the occasion of his birth anniversary. She described his life and ideas as a source of inspiration for the government’s public service mission.
In a post on social media, the Chief Minister said the Delhi government is working with full sensitivity to realise Babasaheb’s dream of social justice under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She said uplifting Dalits, backward communities and the underprivileged remains a top priority for her administration.
CM Gupta added that, guided by Babasaheb’s call to “educate, organise and struggle,” the government is creating modern educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged sections and is also working to strengthen their economic and social empowerment through various schemes. She said the goal is to build an inclusive Delhi where every citizen has an equal opportunity to move forward.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated two Water ATMs in the GP Block and Beriwala Bagh Block of the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency. She said the seven Water ATMs set up across wards 55, 56 and 57 will ensure that clean drinking water reaches every household with dignity. Each unit has a capacity of 2,000 litres of purified water per hour, and cardholders can draw up to 20 litres per person per day.
Senior BJP leaders, including national general secretary Tarun Chugh and SC Morcha president Lal Singh Arya, along with party office-bearers and workers, were present at the event.
