Bhubaneswar, 14 April (H.S.) : On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, political discussions in Odisha have intensified over a possible alliance between the Congress and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD). Leaders from both parties have responded to the ongoing speculation.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Bhakta Charan Das stated that any decision regarding an alliance would be taken by the party’s central leadership. He clarified that the state unit is not empowered to decide on such matters, and the final call will rest with the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
Meanwhile, BJD leader Debi Prasad Mishra said that such political discussions are not unusual and tend to arise from time to time. He added that no formal decision has been taken so far regarding any alliance. Emphasizing caution, he noted that political speculation should not be treated as fact without official confirmation.
