Guwahati, 10 April 10 (HS): The results of the Assam High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination were declared on Friday, with Jyotirmoy Das of Sankardev Shishu Niketan, Patacharkuchi securing the first position in the state.

According to the official results, Akanksha Bhuyan of Ambikagiri Rai Choudhury Jatiya Vidyalaya in Biswanath secured the second position, while Ziya Fara Islam of Little Flower School, Dibrugarh stood third.

A total of 4,29,249 students appeared for the examination this year. Among them, 85,189 students secured first division, 1,50,167 students obtained second division and 46,345 students passed in third division.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his congratulations to all successful candidates, wishing them a bright future.------------
