
Bhubaneswar, 08 March (H.S.): On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended heartfelt greetings to women across the state, lauding them as the true driving force behind societal progress.
In his message, the Chief Minister emphasized that women’s empowerment and holistic development remain a top priority for his government. “Women’s strength forms the real foundation of societal growth, and our initiatives aim to ensure respect, equal opportunities, and advancement in every sphere,” he said.
Majhi highlighted several key government programmes aimed at fostering women’s economic independence and social welfare. The ‘Subhadra’ Yojana provides financial support to empower women, while the ‘Lakshapati Didi’ campaign encourages entrepreneurship and self-reliance, with Odisha achieving notable success in creating a large number of Lakhpati Didis under this initiative.
For enhancing educational access and securing brighter futures for girls, the Chief Minister cited the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangal’ scheme, complemented by the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana’ to strengthen social security. Maternal and child health remain a focus, supported through schemes like ‘Mamata’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’.
Innovative measures such as ‘Subhadra Wellness Centre’ and ‘Subhadra Shakti Sambad’ were also highlighted, aimed at improving women’s health awareness and access to vital resources.
“Our government is committed to fostering an environment where women are respected, empowered, and provided opportunities to thrive socially, economically, and educationally,” Majhi added. He urged everyone to celebrate women’s courage and achievements while collectively working toward a more equal and inclusive society.
