Haridwar, 07 March (H.S.): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed on Saturday the government's ironclad commitment to deporting every infiltrator from Kedarnath to Kanyakumari, while stressing the purification of voter lists as vital to safeguarding democracy.
Speaking to a massive crowd at the Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, 4 Saal Bemisaal event in Haridwar's Bairagi Camp, Shah praised Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's leadership for swiftly resolving state issues, propelling rapid development. He invoked the Uttarakhand statehood agitation, recalling youth sacrifices like the Rampur Tiraha incident, and credited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for creating Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh—now thriving under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stewardship.
He touted the new Nyaya Sanhita, replacing 150-year-old colonial laws, with full implementation by 2028—ensuring cases from FIR to Supreme Court verdict resolve in under three years, heralding the world's most modern justice system.
Shah congratulated refugees from Pakistan and Afghanistan—Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains—granted citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), affirming their equal rights. He listed Modi's landmark achievements: scrapping Article 370, CAA enactment, Ram Temple in Ayodhya after 550 years, Badrinath-Kedarnath reconstruction, Mahakal Lok, and Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.
Applauding 1,900 youth receiving Uttarakhand Police constable appointment letters, Shah noted merit-based hiring without bribes, bolstered by Dhami's strict anti-cheating laws. He predicted the 2027 Haridwar Kumbh Mela would shatter records and hailed the Vibrant Villages Programme, designating border villages as first villages to curb migration.
Praising Dhami for clearing encroachments on nearly 10,000 acres of government land, Shah reiterated: the government is resolute in removing every infiltrator coast-to-coast, with clean voter lists essential for democracy. Central aid surged from ₹54,000 crore (2004-2014) to ₹1.87 lakh crore since, fueling projects like all-weather roads, Delhi-Dehradun corridor, and rail upgrades; per capita income doubled from ₹1.25 lakh to ₹2.60 lakh.
Dhami echoed the praise, crediting PM Modi and Shah for Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat via Article 370 abrogation and CAA, while thanking them for ₹500 crore toward the Kumbh. Attendees included Union Minister Ajay Tamta, Assembly Speaker Ritu Bhushan Khanduri, BJP state chief Mahendra Bhatt, Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat, former CMs Tirath Singh Rawat, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Vijay Bahuguna, Tehri MP Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah, Garhwal MP Anil Baluni, and Nainital MP Ajay Bhatt.
