
New Delhi, 07 March (H.S.): The central government will host the She Leads Bharat Shakti Walk on Kartavya Path on March 8 to mark International Women's Day, uniting nearly 3,000 women from diverse sectors in a show of empowerment and solidarity.
Organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the 2-kilometer procession will run from India Gate to Vijay Chowk between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Participants include women from the armed forces, police, media, healthcare, sports, industry, government institutions, and grassroots organizations, all rallying under the She Leads Bharat theme to highlight women's pivotal roles across society.
Event Highlights
Female leaders—including central ministers, ministers of state, parliamentarians, legislators, and prominent figures from various fields—will spearhead the walk, following brief addresses by dignitaries and a ceremonial flag-off.An exhibition along Kartavya Path will showcase key government schemes for women and their achievements in multiple domains.
At India Gate, cultural performances will feature a collective rendition of Vande Mataram alongside traditional dances such as Dollu Kunitha, Kalaripayattu, Shringa Rimalam, Ranachandi, and Ghoomar.
