Kolkata, 07 March (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday congratulated candidates from the state who achieved success in the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination 2025, saying their achievement has brought pride to Bengal.

Sharing the information on the eve of International Women's Day, the Chief Minister said that 11 candidates trained at the state government-run Satyendra Nath Tagore Civil Services Study Centre secured positions in the final merit list of the prestigious examination. Nearly half of them are women.

Banerjee extended congratulations to the successful candidates, their parents and teachers, describing the achievement as an inspiration for the youth of the state. She said the state government provides highly subsidised coaching support to aspirants through the institute, which is now yielding encouraging results.

According to the Chief Minister, the candidates trained at the centre who secured ranks in the final merit list include Diksha Rai (40), Akash Kumar Rai (279), Vaishna Biswas (367), Goutam Thakuri (432), Debjyoti Halder (443), Debabrata Pramanik (467), S. Nived Kumar (486), Mohsina Bano (648), Juhi Das (649), Kirti Chowdhury (760) and Anniela Sherpa (893).

She said that based on their impressive ranks, the candidates are likely to join premier services such as the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Police Service and other top civil services.

Banerjee also noted that several other candidates from West Bengal have succeeded in the all-India examination and are expected to enter the country’s top administrative services.

The Chief Minister said the state government’s encouragement and consistent support have motivated young aspirants, and the achievement will inspire many more youths from West Bengal to appear for national-level competitive examinations in the future.
