New Delhi, 06 March (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day visit to West Bengal today and tomorrow. There, she will participate in various programs.According to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Murmu will launch the Darjeeling Hill Festival in Darjeeling on March 6 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’.

On this occasion, she will also inaugurate an exhibition titled ‘Roots and Rhythms’ at Lok Bhawan, Darjeeling.On the same day, the President will virtually inaugurate the Platinum Jubilee Flagship Programme on Women’s Leadership and Empowerment at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.

On the second day of her visit, March 7, President Murmu will attend the ninth International Santal Conference organized by the International Santal Council in Darjeeling as the chief guest. This visit will promote cultural and educational activities in the region while strengthening dialogue on issues concerning the tribal community.
