New Delhi, 06 March (H.S.): The Congress party condemned the statement by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent regarding a 30-day temporary waiver for Indian refineries to purchase Russian oil.Congress media department chairman Pawan Khera, during a press conference at party headquarters on Friday, accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of operating under pressure from America-Israel, rendering the government's foreign policy devoid of independence.

India has received permission from the US to buy oil from Russia for 30 days.

Khera stated that when Russia was ready to supply oil to India, the Modi government took no action, but only became active after receiving US permission. Waivers are granted where sanctions apply, yet no trade deal has been signed, and the government has already capitulated to American conditions.
