Guwahati, 31 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday paid heartfelt tribute to eminent Assamese poet, lyricist and litterateur Keshab Mahanta on his death anniversary, remembering his immense contribution to the state’s literary and cultural landscape.

In a social media message, the Chief Minister said that Keshab Mahanta elevated Assamese literature and music to great heights through his creative brilliance. His compositions, deeply rooted in nature and human emotions, continue to resonate with people and touch hearts even today.

Sarma noted that the rich legacy of Mahanta’s songs and poetry will remain a source of inspiration for generations, adding that Assamese society will always remember his invaluable contributions with respect and gratitude.
