
Guwahati, 31 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday extended his heartfelt greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, paying rich tributes to Lord Mahavir.
In his social media message, the Chief Minister offered deep respects and conveyed warm wishes, urging citizens to follow the path shown by Lord Mahavir to build a progressive, peaceful and humane society. He emphasized the timeless values of compassion, non-violence and self-discipline as guiding principles for collective development.
Highlighting the core teachings of Lord Mahavir, Sarma noted that the principles of ahimsa (non-violence), satya (truth), asteya (non-stealing), brahmacharya (celibacy) and aparigraha (non-possession) formed the foundation of his life and message.
He further stated that the ideals of sacrifice, restraint, love and compassion continue to inspire humanity and serve as a moral compass even today. The Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all citizens on the occasion.------------
