(HS): The Special Court dealing with fraudster Ashok Kharat has extended his police
till April 1.
Ashok Kharat was
arrested for exposure of his sexual exploitation of women and projecting himself
as superpowers and as an astrologer. He was also charged with following
witchcraft.
Kharat was
presented before the court as his police custody ended on March 29. Meanwhile,
police received many more complaints of cheating farmers, practising illegally as
money lenders, money laundering, rape, and amassing property worth crores of
rupees.
A Special
Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted by Chief Minister Devendra
Fadnavis under a woman IPS officer Tehaswi Satpute.
Alleged of
involvement in the case Maharashtra Women’s Commission Chief Rupali Chakankar
had to resign. She also resigned as Women’s Wing Chief of Nationalist Congress
Party (Ajit Pawar), Maharashtra Unit.
